We’re Celebrating Yorkshire Day!

With a rich heritage and many famous traditions from Yorkshire Puddings to the Bronte Sisters, there’s no doubt that being from Yorkshire is something to really celebrate, so we thought there’s no better time to reflect on InVentry and what makes us
proud to be Yorkshire than on Yorkshire Day!

Where it first began…

In 2010, here in West Yorkshire InVentry was created by our very own Director, Phil Brooke. With a passion for all things IT, Phil was working at a local secondary school when he identified a real issue within his school; paper-based registers and visitor books, especially when dealing with emergency evacuations.

This way of working meant that the safety of pupils, visitors and staff was dependent on a list of written names with no way of tracking the accuracy of the data. This was the issue that sparked the idea of an innovative digital sign in and visitor management system.

Fast forward 12 years and InVentry is now installed in over 8000 organisations across education and corporate sectors – what started out as just a thought has now become a fundamental system that has transformed site safety and safeguarding across so many organisations.

Within this time InVentry has celebrated many milestones – a few of our highlights would have to be developing our software to meet the changing needs of our customers, including the release of Audit & Compliance, and enhancing our system to incorporate health features in response to the global pandemic. We must also mention having the opportunity to exhibit at many fantastic events including the UK’s largest Education Show; the BETT Show.

As we celebrate 12 years of InVentry, it’s safe to say that the future looks bright, with the release of exciting new product features coming very soon, we’re excited for what the rest of 2022 will have in store!

So what makes InVentry great?

Some of the very best businesses are born in Yorkshire and InVentry is one of them. As we look back over the years, it’s clear that our success comes down to the talented individuals that make up our team.

The culture at InVentry is what makes us proud as each and every one of our dedicated professionals emit our key values. As a team we have a passion for the technology we create and the impact this has on our customers, but fundamentally we have a great appreciation for one another!

We’re a sociable bunch that enjoys getting together, from our company meetings and ‘Reward and Recognition’ celebrations right through to our charity fundraising activities; there’s always something going on to get involved with.

In the spirit of Yorkshire Day, we asked our team what it means to them to be Yorkshire and what makes them proud to work for a Yorkshire company:

“The Yorkshire culture makes me proud; we have some of the best sites and attractions on our doorstep – the Yorkshire Dales and Bolton Castle to mention only two! My favourite thing InVentry would be the people, I think we have some of the best colleagues; they are always smiling and a joy to work with.” Elliott Hemming, 2nd Line Support Technician

“It has to be Yorkshire Puddings, gravy on pancakes and disputing the true meaning of a traditional teacake. For my favourite thing about InVentry, it would have to be the feel-good activities like yoga sessions, breakfast treats and even massages in the office!” Annie Croisdale, Sheduling Support.

“Yorkshire is fantastic! Leeds is an amazing city, and everyone is so proud to be Yorkshire. My favourite traditions would be Yorkshire Tea and gravy on pancakes! What makes me proud to be part of the InVentry team is the people and the culture we have here.” Lauren Thackray, Renewals Executive
