ISO9001 & ISO27001 Accredited Company
Internal Account Manager Joe Donald

It’s the people that make InVentry such a fantastic company to be part of.  For this addition of InVentry Insights, we spoke to Joe Donald to hear all about the day in the life of an Internal Account Manager at InVentry.

When did you join InVentry?

I started my role as an Internal Account Manager in May 2021 on a part time basis whilst I completed my degree; I then went on to become a full-time employee once I had finished my studies. It was great to have the opportunity to learn new skills and gain additional experience whilst completing my degree, especially with the support of the team.

It sounds like you made a great impression! What do you like most about InVentry?

My favourite thing about working at InVentry would have to be the environment and the team; it’s such an enthusiastic and friendly place to be!

There’s a real sense of team spirit throughout the company, from our quarterly events through to our charity fundraising activities (my top two being completing total warrior and the business fives football tournament) we always get involved and show our support for one another.

We’re a really sociable bunch here which I think comes down to the InVentry values. We love to celebrate and support each other – whether it’s a company-wide achievement or a personal accomplishment!

So, what does a typical day look like in your role?

A typical day for me involves speaking to our existing customers and helping them with anything they need to get the most out of their InVentry system. You’ll either find me chatting away on the phone giving advice and recommendations to customers or I’ll be tucked away in a meeting room giving demonstrations of our Classmark Cloud and Audit & Compliance software. No two days are the same that’s for sure!

I also work closely with our external account managers, resellers, and our support team to help deliver the best possible services for our customers.

It’s always good to be busy! What would be your highlight so far?

Completing my first Audit & Compliance demonstration would be up there as a highlight. I’d never done anything like that before, so I’ll always remember my first. I’m also proud that I landed a full-time role at InVentry after university, it was great to know that the work I had done when I worked part time had been valued by the team and that they saw my potential.

Tell us more about the Internal Sales team…

If I had to describe our team, I would have to say fun, hardworking and definitely talkative but what sales team isn’t eh?  There are 6 of us now in the team – we are a lively group but also very supportive!

It’s great now that we’re back in the office as we all sit together so if anyone has any questions or needs a bit of guidance on a customer query, we all jump in and bounce around some ideas to find a solution. It really is a great team to be part of, I’ve been at InVentry for just over a year and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Describe your experience with InVentry in 3 words…

Fun, exciting and engaging.

That’s great to hear! If you were stuck on a desert island, who would you like to be stranded with and what 3 items would you take with you?

I’ve thought a lot about this question! I would love to be stranded with Neil Warnock, former Leeds United Manager. He’s absolutely hilarious and anyone who’s into their football knows that he is such an interesting character. I just think he would know what to do in an emergency – he’s a genius! I would take with me a packet of matches to make a fire, a spear for hunting and then a crate of Fanta Lemon.

What do you get up to in your spare time?

Being a typical Yorkshire lad, I’m a massive Leeds United Fan so whenever they have a game, I’ll always go and watch them play.

What’s one fact that people may not know about you?

I performed Dizzy Rascal – Bonkers by myself at my primary school talent show.

We’d love to see that video! And finally, what words do you live by?

A man with new ideas is a mad man until his ideas triumph.
