Trinity School Sevenoaks

THE CLIENT

Trinity School Sevenoaks is a state-funded Christian school whose aim is to create a caring and nurturing environment, where students are valued and known as unique individuals. Believing that this makes for happier students and consequently, better and more confident learners, helping to equip students with the skills and knowledge they will need for life.

THE CHALLENGE

With the expansion of their sixth form department, Trinity School Sevenoaks were looking for a solution that would save admin time and enable them to no longer have to manually track their higher students’ attendance. As study sessions are compulsory for their Sixth form students, the school needed an accurate record of their presence.

THE SOLUTION

With an InVentry sign in system already in place, Trinity School Sevenoaks jumped at the chance to see Lessonscan in action when their sixth form significantly grew.

With the installation of our Quickscan Touch outside their Study Centre, sixth form students are given a new level of independence by being able to easily sign in and out of lessons. Giving teachers peace of mind that their attendance is accurately recorded and pulled directly through to their SIMs Management Information System (MIS).

Alex Birks-Agnew, Senior Assistant Head said “our sixth form department has recently grown in size, meaning there’s a lot of students who we need to account study time for. We wanted to be able to properly track attendance at study lessons for sixth form students as they have some flexibility about where they can study in the building, and we were struggling with the ever-growing workload of manually registering every pupil. With Lessonscan students can not only easily scan themselves into their study period, but it’s freed up heaps of admin time for the staff too!”

Trinity School Sevenoaks has the ability to set the times at which students can sign in and add late messages; all whilst linking directly through to their MIS; ensuring their fire evacuation list is live and up to date at all times.

With Alex Birks-Agnew commenting “as sixth form students have a higher level of independence than the rest of our pupils, it was difficult to track whether or not they were attending their study sessions, now students will use the main InVentry sign in system to sign in on a morning, and then use Lessonscan to mark themselves as present at the Study Centre – it’s eliminated any risks from manual errors.”
