The Challenge

Matrix Polymers faced significant issues with their paper sign in system. Visitors and staff frequently bypassed the book, leading to incomplete or inaccurate records of who was on-site. Logistic Administrator Kelly McDevitt expressed concerns about safety, particularly in the event of an evacuation, stating, “People would forget to sign in… I didn’t know who was in the building.” This lack of reliable information posed a risk in emergency scenarios, where knowing exactly who was on-site is critical.

The Solution

To address these concerns, Matrix Polymers implemented the InVentry sign in system. Kelly McDevitt explained, “With InVentry, I know people are going to be safe, I know who’s here, and I can get them off-site if there’s a fire. For me, that’s the best part.” The system significantly improved the efficiency of safety procedures, particularly through the use of InVentry’s evacuation app, which Kelly described as “brilliant” during test runs.

Matrix Polymers also appreciated the professional impression the InVentry system made on visitors, with Kelly noting, “Everyone walks in and says things like ‘this is posh, isn’t it,’ they’re always very impressed with it.” The system’s flexibility allowed for seamless integration across different areas of the business, including the warehouse and reception, with staff using either fobs on a Quickscan Unit or tapping in at reception. This not only streamlined the sign-in process but also provided valuable data on staff attendance and working hours.
