InVentry Enables Instant Door Access and Removes the Need to Issue Temporary Staff ID Cards with Checkpoint
The Challenge
Sarah Marsden, Operations Administrator, was looking for an effective method to allow staff members access to their workplace without the need for ID cards. She said, “we have an issue currently where staff members are misplacing their ID cards and we’re having to give out temporary cards so that they can gain access to site, so when we heard about Checkpoint, it was a no brainer as to whether or not we should give it a try.”
The Solution
Since installation, Checkpoint has enabled authorised personnel to open access-controlled doors with the Passport app and our Checkpoint devices by simply scanning a QR code. Sarah Marsden said, “Checkpoint has allowed us to have more opportunities for staff to get in and out of our building without the need for a temporary ID card. Not only for staff members who may have lost their ID card, but also those who may pop out at lunch and accidentally leave it on their desk, you know that they’ll always have their phone on them in order to get back into the building – it’s been a massive problem-solver!”
As Checkpoint doesn’t require an internet connection, the devices are not only cost-effective and low maintenance, they’re also easy to install; with Sarah commenting, “the installation process was really quick and professional. Our Project Manager was brilliant, he constantly kept us updated on the process and our Checkpoint devices were installed in a matter of weeks – we couldn’t have asked for a more efficient install.”
When discussing our new Checkpoint feature; the ability to open doors and sign in at the same time, Sarah said, “we’re really looking forward to utilising Checkpoint’s new feature. At the moment staff members use the device to gain access to site and then they will sign in at our main InVentry screen, so the ability to trigger door releases and sign in at the same time would be a massive help to our office.”
