InVentry Improves Staff Management and Time Keeping at Skinners’ Academy whilst offering an Accessible Sign in System
The Client
Skinners’ Academy, based in Woodberry Down, North Hackney is home to pupils ranging from 11 to 19 years old. Proud to be at the heart and hub of the local community, their learning environment is best described as “inspiring, exciting and motivating” in which they challenge and support their students’ paths to success. In addition, wellbeing for their staff and pupils, is at the forefront of their priorities.
The Challenge
With a sign in system already in place, Skinners’ Academy were looking for an alternative which had the ability to delve deeper by providing multiple sign in options across site, as well as the ability for staff to sign in via their mobile phones. They were also looking for a system which offered further capabilities, allowing them to generate reports, track staff working hours and manage the comings and goings of their visitors.
The Solution
InVentry provided the Skinners’ Academy with a fully integrated InVentry academy visitor management system which allows their Administrators to generate various reports to record fire evacuations, as well as producing accurate timecards based on their staff members signing in and out habits.
Jarrar Khan, Network Manager said, “Our previous sign in system offered a basic level of communication with our staff members, there was a lot of manual work involved for our HR Manager and reports were lacking. After speaking with one of InVentry’s Resellers, we had a demo of the InVentry system, we liked the software and it’s proven to be lightyears ahead of our previous system.”
InVentry has streamlined their report process and eased the administrative burden on their HR department. Skinners’ Academy can now easily manage staffing and punctuality by generating daily reports on working hours and ensure that these are sent to the appropriate staff members. With Jarrar Khan commenting, “Our HR Manager was keen to get a system in place which allowed her to improve the management of staff working hours, now with InVentry, she’s finding this a lot easier. The console flags those who are late, reports are conveniently generated, and you can quite simply add the correct number of working hours to individual staff members and cross-reference these with the actual hours worked so we’re constantly up to date with our time-keeping process.”
Although Skinners’ Academy were first drawn to InVentry for this reporting feature, they quickly utilised the system to its full capability and appreciate that staff members and visitors can sign in via a range of access options. Sixth form students can sign in via their main InVentry screen, while staff members utilise the Quickscan units they have in place, along with the ability to sign in and have an overview of who’s on site via the Anywhere App.
With Jarrar Khan commenting, “Knowing which staff members are onsite and when visitors are due in is great. Our administrative staff members really appreciate that they can pre-book visitors and that it’ll even automatically notify the staff member when they arrive, so they no longer have to spend the time tracking the host down and alerting them that their visitor is here”.

They’re extremely helpful and they’ll always come up with a solution for us. Our Account Manager there introduced us to InVentry and it’s miles ahead of our previous system.
