It’s the people that make InVentry such a fantastic company to be part of. For this addition of InVentry Insights, we spoke to Charlotte Fastenbauer to hear all about the day in the life of a Support Lead at InVentry.
When did you start at InVentry?
I started at InVentry in August 2019 as a support coordinator. It’s been almost 3 years but it feels like it’s been longer than that! Before joining InVentry I used to work in Hospitality – I love interacting with people which I think is why I enjoy my role in support so much. When I started InVentry I was looking for a whole new challenge and I never thought I would come to understand some of the things I know now about technology!
So, what do you like about InVentry?
My colleagues, they are such a wonderful bunch! Everyone is friendly and helpful, there’s always someone to go to if you need some support or even just a little chat. I have made so many friends since starting my role, which was nice for me as I completely relocated at the time!
We are a friendly bunch! What does day to day look like in your role?
No day in Support is the same! My job is to manage a team of technicians and their workload, making sure all customers queries are answered in a timely manner with the best possible customer service. I speak directly with customers if they have any concerns and oversee any escalations. September is the busiest time for Support so managing the demand is very important.
What would be your career highlight so far?
Probably attending BETT 2022! It’s a long few days but it really pushed me out of my comfort zone into a different role (for a little while). I really enjoyed it, catching up with our existing customers and meeting lots of new faces! It was also a completely new experience for me as it’s so different from my normal role in support but that’s one great thing about InVentry, there’s always new opportunities to get involved with and do something a bit different.

I love a bit of karaoke, my go-to songs are usually anything Amy Winehouse!

Pasta, you can never have too much pasta!
We LOVE pasta. What do you do in your free time?
I love spending time with my friends and family. Whenever I can, I go to visit my parents in Hertfordshire.
Family time is great! Tell us one fact people might not know about you.
My surname is from Austria. My Grandad has lived here since he was a teenager. I often get asked where it’s from and how to spell it!!
What is your favourite quote / words to live by?
I live by the phrase ‘you buy cheap, you buy twice’ I’m a bit of a shopaholic so I always tell people never to buy a cheap alternative that they’ll end up replacing anyway!
